The film, "Pathology" is a crime thriller directed by Marc Schoelermann. It stars Milo Ventimiglia of "Heroes" fame, Alyssa Milano, "Charmed," and Michael Weston.
Ventimiglia is forensics medical student, Ted Gray who unwittingly joins a group of med students trying to see who can commit the perfect murder. The film had a limited release and is slated a DVD release Sept. 23, 2008.
The music was composed by Johannes Kobilke and Robert Williamson, and performed by the Selectracks Studio Ensemble with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It's hard to tell that an orchestra performed this music.
After listening to the 17 tracks, I was unimpressed. Re-playing the music did not help. The music is dreary, dark and ominous. The tracks sound the same and in an harsh, electronic techno way. Boring. Many songs start out loud, then seem to fade off, then back to a crescendo.
Usually, I find a musical theme that runs through most of tunes of a score. Here, there are only two tracks that feature a forlorn piano solo.
It's featured in "Gwen's Theme" and "Smoking Kills." Track 4, "Disagreement" was the most interesting. The music sounded like heartbeats.
One good thing: The score's music is applicable to a scary movie.
