Superbad is the latest film from Knocked Up star Seth Rogen. He and his buddy Evan Goldberg began writing the screenplay when they were 13 years old. Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill) are two awkward youths who have a friendship that is depended on each other. Hmm, don’t those names sound familiar?
They find for the first times in their lives that their lives that graduation will separate them because they’ve been accepted into different colleges. So they decide that it’s time that they get laid and have one night to do it.
After listening to the soundtrack I began to think that the film was a period piece since it has a great 70s funk to it. In fact, The Bar-Kays (“Too Hot To Stop” and “Soul Finger”), Curtis Mayfield (“P.S. I Love You”), and Rick James (“Bustin’ Out (on Funk)”) all appear on the soundtrack.
They’re joined by extra funky contributions by Lyle Workman. I think the film is set in modern times but it still has that funkalicious musical flavor baby.
From what I’ve seen the movie looks very funny and I can imagine the hilarious hijinks that go along with this soundtrack. Go buy it and get some McLovin’ baby.
