Pirates of the Caribbean: World\'s End, the spot on the map that remains undiscovered, the area where charted waters disappear and sailors are forced to deal with the, well, the world\'s end. According to maritine legend, the world\'s end is where you\'ll find all sorts of giant monsters and devious dangers.

Captain Jack is back for one last go around; you didn’t think that he really turned into Kraken crap did you?  When we last left Cap’n Jack the vile beastie had swallowed the poor soul.

As you can guess from the cover of the CD, Jack is not an easy fellow to kill (it helps when your movie makes lots of doubloons for the studio).  His adventures with his returning friends Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) take to the oriental seas and apparently the end of the world this time ‘round.  He’s also joined by a revived Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) and Captain Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat).

It stacks up to be the movie that will be the most closely watched at the box office this summer season.  Not only are all those mates on board for this rousing adventure, but composer Hans Zimmer returns to provide the music.  He’s again provided a rousing bit of work to accompany the film, but be prepared to only end up wanting to see the picture more with titles like “Multiple Jacks” and some music that no doubt goes with some exciting visuals.

“Hoist the Colors” is written by director Gore Verbinski and Zimmer (with lyrics by Ted Elliot and Terry Rossi) and is a dirge sung by the pirates.  “Parlay” sounds very Ennio Morricone, but is still one of my favorite tracks. “I Don’t Think Now is the Best Time” features a very exciting score that has a waltz in the middle and I can’t wait to see the sequence in the film that goes with it.

If you’re a fan of Zimmer’s work in the other Pirates movies then this release only continues that fine track record.  Go out and buy, me heartys.
