John Debney: ASCAP Henry Mancini Award
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) held their 20th Annual Film and Television Music Awards recently in Beverly Hills. The awards ceremony honored the composers of the biggest box office film music and the most performed television music of 2004.

The ASCAP Henry Mancini Award was presented to Academy-Award nominee and Emmy winner John Debney in recognition of his outstanding contributions to film and television music. The award made John Debney the youngest composer ever to receive the honor.

Mark Snow: ASCAP Golden Note Award
The ASCAP Golden Note Award was given to Mark Snow in recognition of his success over the past twenty years as one of the most popular composers in television and film. Mark Snow has now received awards at the ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards every year since their launch in 1986.

The awards also celebrated the Centennial of composer Harold Arlen with a special presentation of a commemorative plaque to Arlen's son.

The ASCAP also presented awards in four other categories; Most Performed Themes, Most Performed Underscore, Top Television Series, and Top Box Office Films.
