Promises, Promises — the acclaimed musical that won the late Jerry Orbach his Tony Award — is the Hal David-Burt Bacharach adaptation of the Billy Wilder film, The Apartment.

When Burt Bacharach and Hal David arrived on Broadway in 1968 with Promises, Promises, their invigorating pop sound was greeted with accolades. The great songwriting team, which had already produced dozens of hit songs that would go on to become standards — including The Look of Love, Walk On By and I Say a Little Prayer — reinvigorated musical theatre with an energizing score.

Burt Bacharach has had 47 top ten hits and nine #1 songs. He’s the recipient of three Academy Awards and six Grammys, and is an inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Promises, Promises ran for over 1200 performances, won two Tony Awards, and was the recipient of a Grammy Award.

Recent years have seen Bacharach and David enjoy a major renaissance and now their classic musical Promises, Promises is at last available again.'
