2004 San Diego Film Critics Society Awards Winners Announced

The winners of the 2004 San Diego Film Critics' Society Awards have been announced. Clint Eastwood won the Best Original Score award for his score to 'Million Dollar Baby'.

This is the first time Eastwood has won an award for music making although he has been involved in writing music themes for some of his own films in the past.

Clint Eastwood also managed to win the award of Best Director for 'Million Dollar Baby'.

Best Director: Clint Eastwood, Million Dollar Baby

Best Actress: Imelda Staunton, Vera Drake

Best Actor: Jim Carrey, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Best Supporting Actress: Natalie Portman, Closer

Best Supporting Actor: Phil Davis, Vera Drake

Best Original Screenplay: Vera Drake (Mike Leigh)

Best Adapted Screenplay: Sideways (Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor)

Best Foreign-Language Film: The Sea Inside (Alejandro Amenabar)

Best Documentary: Tarnation (Jonathan Caouette)

Best Animated Film: The Incredibles (Brad Bird)

Best Cinematography (tie): Hero (Christopher Doyle) and The Phantom of the Opera (John Mathieson)

Best Production Design: The Aviator (Dante Ferretti)

Best Editing: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Valdis Oskarsdottir)

Best Original Score: Million Dollar Baby (Clint Eastwood)

Body of Work award: Don Cheadle, for his performances in Hotel Rwanda, The United States of Leland, and The Assassination of Richard Nixon.
