John Williams to score 'Memoirs of a Geisha'

Columbia Pictures' upcoming epic drama 'Memoirs of a Geisha' will be scored by John Williams. Although he had been attached to the movie early on when Steven Spielberg was to direct, John Williams decided to remain on the project when new director Rob Marshall took over.

Based on Arthur Golden's novel, the film starrs Ziyi Zhang, Kan Watanabe and Michelle Yeoh. The movie tells the story of how Nitta Sayuri transcends from her fishing-village roots and become one of Japan's most celebrated Geisha.
