Some Christmas reads (and watches) for hard times

There is an interesting article put out by the AP, with a list of Christmas reads. Of course, all of them are classics.

The most famous, of course, is the Dickens Classic “A Christmas Carol” published in 1843.

Others include the O’Henry Story “The Gift of the Magi” as well as Truman Capote’s "A Christmas Memory," published in 1953.

But my all time favorite holiday tale, is of course "It's a Wonderful Life," directed by Frank Capra, 1946.

For anyone who has been reluctant to watch it, I cannot encourage you to make some time for it this year. Why? Because I too went for years without watching, thinking it was just some sappy “feel good” movie, when it is so much more.

It is a dark yet hopeful film—Jimmy Stewart is great, and much of the movie he is always putting others first. If you still have doubts about watching, please visit this review of this great film here.
