Waist Deep soundtrack features big names in music

Featuring some big names in music, including Ice Cube, Ghostface Killah, and Redman, the soundtrack for Waist Deep will hit store shelves on Tuesday, June 13th with the suggested retail price of $10.99.

The16 track album is being released from Def Jam in support of the new film (coming to theaters Friday, June 23rd) that stars Tyrese Gibson, The Game, Larenz Tate, Arnold Vosloo and Meagan Good. The film is directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall – who also co-wrote the film with Darin Scott based on a story by Michael Mahern.The film is described as an urban action thriller with a sexy 21st-century Bonnie and Clyde feel. It follows ex-con O2 (Tyrese Gibson) who is plunged into a life-or-death situation. He is trying to go straight for the sake of his young son Junior, but is forced to go back outside the law when Junior is kidnapped in a carjacking. His son is now in the hands of a vicious criminal leader, Meat (hip-hop superstar The Game). O2’s shady cousin Wanna Be (Larenz Tate) is caught between loyalties, and so the only person who can or will help O2 now is wily street-smart hustler Coco (Meagan Good). With the clock ticking down, the heat between them rises as they become a lawbreaking couple, on an action-packed tear through town to save Junior and outwit the underworld. The soundtrack reflects the movie’s urban feel, and gritty storyline. The soundtrack is now available for pre-order at Amazon.
