The Color Purple's cast recording set for January

Patti LaBelle and Jill Scott will record a bonus version of "What About Love" to be released as a single in January and to be included on the recording.
The musical based on Alice Walker's novel The Color Purple is now in previews at The Broadway Theater and will officially open on December 1st.
Starring in the production is LaChanze as Celie, Felicia P. Fields as Sofia, Renee Elsie Goldsberry as Nettie, Elizabeth Withers as Shug, Kingsley Leggs as Mister, Victor Dixon as Harpo, and Krisha Marcana as Squeak.
The musical features a book by Marsha Mason and music by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray.
In The Color Purple, Celie endures insurmountable hardships within her own family and struggles to find her identity and love.
