This week on Cosplay Melee, the competitors are challenged to create characters and costumes using Game of Thrones as their inspiration.

Contestant Ruth is delighted! In the trailer for the show, which you can watch below, she says: “I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan. My very first convention I ever even attended, I got to meet George R. R. Martin. I’m so excited!”

Each contestant must design and produce an all-new, battle-ready character to compete for the “iron throne”. They must decide what kind of armour their creation will have, and they must also build a weapon to go with it.

To guide them in their quest, each cosplayer must pick a scroll from the “bowl of scrolls”, with each scroll bearing the name of a classic weapon.

Swords, crossbows and flails are in the mix, as is a shield, but who can use their creativity to their best advantage?

As Yvette explains: “After round one, myself and the other judges will determine which of your weapons is the most worthy.

“The winning cosplayer will gain an advantage heading into the main event. However, one of you will be deemed unworthy, and banished from the realm…forever.”

Who will be deemed “worthy” after round one, and who will be deemed “unworthy” and thrown out of the competition?

Who will win the $10,000 at the end of the show? The cosplayers have eight hours to create and perfect their character!

Cosplay Melee airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on Syfy.
