Former “it girl” Tinsley Mortimer‘s incredible fall from grace takes center stage on this week’s Real Housewives of New York City.

Once NYC’s most photographed socialite, over the past decade Tinsley’s life has fallen apart following her high-profile divorce from her high-school sweetheart Robert Livingston “Topper” Mortimer.

Bethenny Frankel puts it bluntly on this week’s Real Housewives of New York City, when she says: “She had the whole world at her finger tips, and kind of crashed and burned.”

Tinsley, 41, and husband Topper split in 2009 before divorcing in 2013. After they parted ways, Tinsley moved to Palm Beach, Florida, to get away from it all and try and make a new start.

However, things didn’t go smoothly — with a saga unfolding involving allegations of domestic abuse and ultimately the law.

It started when she began dating sugar baron’s son Alexander ‘Nico’ Fanjul, who was a decade her junior.

They went on to have a troubled on-off relationship. Tinsley told People that during their time together she suffered both “physical and emotional abuse”.

On at least one occasion, he is also said to have claimed that Mortimer attacked him.

The authorities were reportedly called to the Fanjul home to break up several vicious fights.

In the end, she wound up being arrested for trespassing on his property while he was inside with another women.

She finally decided to return to NYC at the behest of her friend, Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan.

On tonight’s RHONY she becomes the latest boarder in Sonja’s townhouse, as she aims to make another fresh start — with hopes that this one turns out better than the last!

Only time will tell…

This week’s Real Housewives of New York City sees Bethenny Frankel, Carole Radziwill and Ramona Singer discuss Tinsley as well as politics and life in general.

Meanwhile, Ramona dishes some info about Luann’s fiance Tom D’Agostino, but Luann has had enough of it, and Sonja hosts a Mad Hatter tea party so everyone, except Dorinda, can meet Tinsley.

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
