See No Evil eyes case of Christie Wilson who was murdered by Mario Garcia

Tonight’s episode of See No Evil on Investigation Discovery follows the disappearance of 27-year-old Christie Wilson after she spent a night in October 2005 at a California casino gambling with a mysterious man.

The episode, called Eye in the Sky, also follows police as they utilize surveillance cameras to reveal her leaving Thunder Valley Casino, near Sacramento, with the man.

CBS News reported in 2007 that Wilson was popular, well-educated and liked cats. But she reportedly had a secret vice — gambling — at which she was very talented.

The casino’s videotapes reportedly showed Wilson leaving the blackjack tables around 1 a.m. Both she and the mysterious man disappeared from the camera’s view while in the parking lot, according to CBS News. She was never seen again, while the man was spotted driving out of the parking lot.

Police eventually discovered the man’s name was Mario Garcia, a local soccer coach, and that he had used a Thunder Valley identification card on the night of the murder, according to CBS.

Garcia, who continued to claim he had nothing to do with the murder, was sentenced January 11 to 59 years to life in prison. He insisted he and Wilson went their separate ways in the parking lot.

The jury, however, said DNA evidence led them to the guilty verdict.

Meanwhile, the Auburn Journal reported in 2014 that Garcia refused to disclose where he had put Wilson’s body. The story said Garcia’s multiple appeals had been denied and that he was still at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego.

See No Evil airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Investigation Discovery.
