The premise of SquarePants follows SpongeBob (Tom Kenny), the naïve happy-go-lucky sponge and his Starfish buddy Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) who together inadvertently torture Squidward (Rodger Bumpass), their long-suffering neighbor and primary antagonist.
Other great side characters include Sandy (Carolyn Lawrence), a Texan squirrel and Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown), SpongeBob's boss at the Krusty Krab. Gary the Snail too (also Tom Kenny) is Bob's pet, and Sheldon Plankton (Doug Lawrence) is another thorn in ol' Bob's squishy side.
