Jurassic Fight Club: Prehistoric bad date kicks off History series

When a woman says no, she means it, especially if her teeth are serrated three inch daggers that are on a conveyor belt rotating her choppers in a shark-like fashion, so she never does without her very special pearl necklace. 

Some guys don’t take no so well. 

Enter History channel’s first of many bad boys to come of the Jurassic time period, the pea-brained Majungatholus, the badass of Madagascar, whose wattled head identifies him as the king of the food chain in the tiny isolated  ecosystem that was home to a rich flora and fauna of prehistoric life. 

History kicks off their summer series so we see a re-imagined pas de deux between a horny male and a really angry female protecting her offspring.  Cutting edge forensics gave the researchers remarkable insight into the psychology and physiology of these ancient beasts. 

Our mama Majungatholus is clearly not in the mood for the random passing male’s sexual advances, and it all goes south and turns into a bloody brawl, and finishes in a bout of cannibalism 70 million years ago.

History’s “Jurassic Fight Club” (Jurassic Fight Club airs Wednesday at 10pm/9c.) re-creates prehistoric battles between the dinosaurs that once roamed the planet.

Using the latest forensic science and CGI technology, the series depicts best educated guesses and plausible scenarios for how these behemoths came to a fight to the finish.

How dinosaurs interacted has never been clearer as experts now can offer play-by-play commentary to their battles that occurred these many million years ago.  With advanced CGI imagery, filmmakers and visual effects artists can now depict the dinosaurs sizing up their opponents and flexing their prehistoric muscles with fantastic detail and give us insight to their real motivation for fighting.

The premiere, “Cannibal Dinosaur,” has paleontologists identify the scarred deep tissue bones of a Madagascar Majungatholus, the highest level of carnivore on the island.

The Madagascar version of the T-Rex was 9 feet tall, was about 28 feet long and weighed a ton. It had a horn on its head and had a tail that it wielded like a battering ram.

The show is a balance of testimonial and opinion by experts in many overlapping fields of paleontology and related science and disciplines.  The big showdown is the duel-to-the-death capper at the end of the show.

Production note: The CGI for this series excels and vibrantly brings the story to life with colors, shadings and wonderfully realistic and fluid movements.

All kids will want to watch this, so be forewarned; like the “Dark Knight,” this is not for impressionable or sensitive younger children.  The ancient fight club is brutal, and everyone gets hurt.
