Loved the show!
they should have called it 'The Joylessness of Sex'
Couldn't have said it better myself! Bravo! If only YOU had written the script!
The ironic thing about Michelle Borth's role as Jamie, a woman whose fiancé won't commit to monogamy in the new HBO series 'Tell Me You Love Me,' is that she is the kind of sexy, intoxicating woman that could probably drive the best-intentioned married man to cheat on his wife. (Mr. Media)
this show is pointless. at least the scenes with nudity in californication are hot. this show is crap, and the last time i was this turned off was the last time i accidentally flicked onto the view and saw rosie
If there is a word that is worse than horrible, i would use it to describe this show. Boring, irritating, bland(even the sex scenes) and unimaginative(ooohh...couples with problems, how original). Seems like they are trying to create a really expensive 'high class' soft-core porno with little bits of drama in between, but failing badly. I'll never watch it again.
Thank God we have Showtime! What happened to HBO's management? They USED to have entertaining programming. Bring back the outstanding shows again like, Six Feet Under, Carnivale, Deadwood, Sopranos, Oz, and DUMP Big Love, Tell Me You Love Me! John From Cincinnati beats up Tell Me You Love Me, and it wasn't great. If it wasn't for Bill Maher and Larry David, I'd be disconnecting.
This show is amazing, probably not for everyone but nonetheless AMAZAING!
There is damage to be done here if the writers and directors of this show are not careful. I used to manage an upscale adult lingerie/adult store and it was amazing and sad to see how many women/couples would come in saying they had never climaxed (as in this recent episode). The way that the sex scenes are portrayed only add to that dilemna. The 'wham-bam-thank-you-maam' approach feels like watching a train wreck.
I tried to get into the writing of the story and if I fast forward through these gratuitous sex scenes then I can see a glimpse of a storyline. The sex cheapens it because it doesn't feel 'loving' but rather like the women are receptacles and vehicles for the men 'getting off'. This will only serve to perpetuate the myth that all a women needs is a man's 'member' inside of her and that's enough to get HER off.
So sad and distorted...and this is a woman who produces this show?
Great show. Could be a fantastic show if Michelle Borth was replaced with someone who could actually act.
Well-written dialogue? I'm certainly no prude, but the overuse of variations of the word f*** have risen to new levels of absurdity. It seems that the word is used merely because it can be. In my opinion, the show is unwatchable due to the horribly pretentious and unnatural way of speaking of so many of the characters. My wife watches this crappy show every time it's on (and so I'm forced to), and it's worse than waterboarding.
I couldn't agree more. I watched every episode hoping beyond hope that I would begin to give a damn about the characters. I did not. They are selfish and not like-able at all. Even the sex is icky.( and I usually enjoy a good sex scene) Bring back Rome. Please?
my wife and i both watch all the shows it is great we both look forward to seeing it, looking forward to more.
Tell Me You Love Me is an AWESOME SHOW!!!
The acting is great, the story line interesting...the cast is amazing.
I watched ten minutes, during which one of the female characters cloyed and straddled her husband, and annoying kissed him softly on the ear for a few minutes... flipped to CNN, then back to HBO to find them STILL doing this, then flipped to CNN again, and after ten minutes found another couple whining, then pretty much doing the same thing as the previous couple, switched to CNN... that's pretty much how I tried to watch it.
This show is pornography, but not for the obvious reason (and if they're not actually having sex, I'm a virgin), it's what I'm calling 'pity pornography' along the same lines of the ALSO pretentious film 'High Art' (at one end) and 'Friends' at the other. ALL full of boring, self absorbed, whiny people.
'Well, this happens, this is real' is that supporters of the show might say.
I just painted my house. That's real. But who the hell wants to watch me paint my house for an hour each week? Just because 'it happens?'
The last ad I saw for the show had a character threatening to leave her husband and I found myself yelling at the TV 'LEAVE HIM so the show can get cancelled!'
Is anyone else out there questioning the chant that turning tv into porn is revolutionary and noble? (BTW I don't have a problem with porn-but pretentious porn pretending to be more, well that is something else.)
And why does Borth's boyfriend (Kirby) always look like a homeless vampire? I don't know which I want to attack him with more garlic or running water.
i love this show! i just finished the last episode and i am dying to know what happens with palek and carolyn. and katie and dave!!! aaaahhh!!
great show. pitty some people are so narrow minded. artistic. pitty many americans just like to see crap, pointless sitcoms. that´s why you ellected bush
