Last night’s Real Time with Bill Maher boasted a great panel and terrific interview guests.
Paul Begala was animated as he always is, GOP player Michael Steele was a class act and a sane representative for his party, and Larry Wilmore of Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show was very entertaining.
Guns, sit-ins and paralysis of our government: watch Texan democratic advisor Paul Begala call Louie Gohmert, Jr. — the Republican U.S. Representative from Texas’s First Congressional District — a “mentally challenged dope…”
Bill also interviewed teenage environmental activist Xiuhtezcatl Martinez about his advocacy work and a lawsuit against the federal government.
At age 16, he is the youngest interview guest on Maher’s show, and explains why he uses the system to effect change for the environment. Maher asked him “how do we clone more kids like you?”.
Youth involvement in politics is especially timely considering the news that many who supported staying in the EU in Britain were under 40, yet large numbers did not show up to make sure that Brexit did not happen.
In New Rules, Maher suggested Obama should just go on an “apology tour”.
Meanwhile, on Overtime Michael Steele danced around Trump but still supports the GOP, while Paul Begala praised Bill Clinton and supports Hillary fully.
Maher says he’s concerned for Clinton’s health and his gaunt appearance and says there is a “happy medium” between veganism and a cheeseburger.
