Casting Call sheet for the week: Gong show acts to Food Network fans needed

Attention, all interested parties who want to try out for their shot on TV.

Here is a round up of casting opportunities for you to mine.

The 1970s variety show, The Gong Show is back with a new version on Comedy Central hosted by Dave Attell.

The series will begin taping soon, so get your unusual, crazy, stupid human and pet tricks ready and send a link of your video-taped act to gongshowcasting@aol.com or contact Hedda Muskat, Casting Producer at 310-413-2861 to schedule a live audition in Los Angeles, Las Vegas or New York City.

People of unusual backgrounds take note: Toronto-based HDI Productions is seeking people who have always desired to be on television to audition for several pilot projects for Global Television and NBC. Interested candidates must be at least 19 years old and the producers are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds. Auditions begin May 6 and shooting on May 14. Applicants should call 416-470-6829 or send an email to casting@hdiproductions.ca.

Couples alert: Embassy Row is producing new versions of The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game and are looking for singles and newlyweds of all ages to apply. Interested candidates can email either TheDatingGame@embassyrow.com or TheNewlywedGame@embassyrow.com.

A new Food Network series titled Ask Aida debuting this summer and produced by Sharp Entertainment will feature on-air viewer questions posed to cooking expert Aida Mollenkamp.

Videos of interesting and creative cooking questions and challenges will be considered for the on-air show by uploading a :45-:60 video (:90 maximum if it's really amazing) that explains the problem to www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_ai/text/0,3201,FOOD_31376_67875,00.html .
