Ian McShane returns to smallscreen

Deadwood" star Ian McShane is returning to television for NBC's drama pilot "Kings" says Reuters.

The series is based on King David, Aussie actor Christopher Egan stars as a pure-hearted young warrior who joins the court of the charismatic and authoritative King Silas, played by McShane.

Scribe Michael Green wrote the series, which will be part of the NBC's upfront presentation on Wednesday - alongside the restarted "Knight Rider," the Christian Slater-led "My Worst Enemy", and Tom Fontana's "The Philanthropist".

"Chuck," "Life," "Heroes," "The Biggest Loser," "Celebrity Apprentice," "American Gladiators," "Friday Night Lights," "The Office," "My Name Is Earl," "Law & Order," "ER" and "30 Rock" are all coming back next season.
