From Monsters and Critics.com Smallscreen News Over the course of the "American Idol" show, contestant Haley Scarnato, voted off the show last night, did her level best to show America her best assets, and her voice was among them. Simon Cowell's continued comments about the American Idol contestant's physique according to Scarnato, hurt. "It's just legs. It is what it is—it's just legs," Scarnato said in a press conference the day after her Idol elimination. Scarnato's collection of hot pants made her one of the most drooled over contestants, with the chatter brewing that it was her looks, not talent, that kept her in the game. On Tuesday's Latin-song night, Cowell reviewed Scarnato's performance of "Turn the Beat Around," and said: "I think you have a very good tactic at the moment, Haley: Wear the least amount of clothes as possible." Scarnato called the remark "frustrating...I'm just going out there to perform and sing." Scarnato told reporters she did not speak to Cowell after her exit Wednesday night. "I didn't go shorter. I didn't wear less clothes," Scarnato said. "...I never changed my look from Hollywood week [when] I showed my midriff a bit." Scarnato claimed in the interview she was trying to stay true to her roots: "I just tried to do the best I could do, and that was that," she said. Scarnato said she never considered changing her fashion ways, which went in a more flesh baring direction last month on British Invasion night. Post performance, Cowell commented: "You naughty little thing." Scarnato quipped she would have tried a new look on the show's upcoming country-music night. "If I was going to be here next week, I was going to wear a choir robe," Scarnato said. © Copyright 2007 by monstersandcritics.com. This notice cannot be removed without permission. |
