Shockingly Voted Off American Idol
By Cindy Locke Apr 28, 2005, 17:05 GMT
Constantine Maroulis was toted as one of the top contenders in the American Idol competition, but last night, he was the contestant with the least votes.
Last night was Maroulis’ first time in the bottom three. As the host, Ryan Seacrest, read the final results, the surprised audience gasped and booed. Judge Paula Abdul actually shed tears for Maroulis.
Right after the elimination, the Fox message board for the show was bombarded with fans expressing their shock and dismay at this turn of events.
The new American Idol will be announced in the season finale, May 25.
