"Desperate Housewives" picked up two nominations from the Directors Guild of America for directorial achievement. Directors Charles McDougall and Arlene Sanford have been nominated for the pilot show and episode "Pretty Little Picture," respectively.
The show, which follows the sexual and otherwise antics of residents of a superficially quite street, has been a huge hit in the US and its recently begun run in the UK has attracted large viewing figures.
Also up for awards are J.J. Abrams for the pilot of ABC's "Lost" and John Patterson for HBO's "Sopranos" episode "All Due Respect."
The film nominees were announced last week and included Clint Eastwood for "Million Dollar Bay," further details on that in this article.
The winners of all five categories will be announced at the 57th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
