Richard Kim, executive editor, spoke with Chris Hayes on MSNBC's All In last night about the conservative defense of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson -- and offered some soundbites:

16: "This is more reality than A&E can actually handle. If you have reality TV premised on finding buffoonish characters, cartoon characters, manipulation, cruelty, you're probably going to get a lot of homophobia, misogyny, and racism in there somewhere too and I think it actually would be great to show that on air more than not... Show them in context."

45: "Homophobia is a political structure. It's supported by institutions, and laws, and whether or not Duck Dynasty airs next season, I just don't think it has a whole lot of impact on that system of homophobia."

40: "One of the really funny things about the comments was just the anatomical crudeness of them. He said that a vagina is more desirable than the anus and it's just sort of like, have you tried the anus? Because maybe if he did he would like it more. You're going to reduce something as complex as human sexuality to which orifice is better?"

36: "This is a view that his church shares. He cites his interpretation of the Bible for it. There are many evangelicals who believe this way, so let's have a conversation about that and why these views exist and are there other Christian alternatives to these beliefs and is there a different interpretation of the Bible rather than just sort of gunning for this guy to get fired."
