Margo Martindale, Tony Shalhoub on CBS, news 2013-14 series pickups

CBS is using the big guns of Hollywood: Jerry Bruckheimer, Chuck Lorre, Greg Garcia and David E. Kelley, to usher in more star power and hopefully continued ratings dominance for the 2013-14 series pickups.

You can expect eight new series, including three dramas and five comedies that boast Robin Williams, Will Arnett and Marg Helgenberger to name a few.

Dead on the vine: Say goodbye to CSI: NY, Rules of Engagement, Vegas and Golden Boy.

New to look forward too: "Reckless" is a sexy legal show set in Charleston, S.C., where the classic northsouth opposites attract plot point is in play, as two lawyers have to deal with their intense attraction as they clash over a police sex scandal. The cast includes Cam Gigandet and Anna Wood.

"Hostages" is from executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Thank you "Homeland," as this one is also based on an Israeli series.  Look for Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott as a family is caught in the middle of a political conspiracy that will change their lives forever.

"Intelligence" is a sci-fi-ish thriller starring Josh Holloway, Marg Helgenberger and Meghan Ory.

"We Are Men" is a new comedy that features Chris Smith, Kal Penn, Tony Shalhoub and Jerry O'Connell.

"Friends with Better Lives" comedy is directed by James Burrows and stars James Van Der Beek. "Thirtysomething" meets "Friends", ahem. Right.

"Mom" stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney, by Chuck Lorre. Sober mama puts life in order in Napa Valley.

"The Millers" is Greg Garcia's baby. Will Arnett is a divorced man, bright spots are Margo Martindale, J.B. Smoove and Beau Bridges as additional cast members.

"Crazy Ones" features Sarah Michelle Gellar in a father/daughter workplace "world of advertising" comedy.
