Bob Newhart to guest on ‘Big Bang Theory’

American comedy legend Bob Newhart is setting up to geek out with Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj in a forthcoming episode of ‘Big Bang Theory’.
American comedy legend Bob Newhart is setting up to geek out with Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj in a forthcoming episode of ‘Big Bang Theory’.
According to reports, Newhart will play the role of Professor Proton, a television host who was idolized by Sheldon (Jim Parsons).
The episode will see Sheldon hiring a down on his luck Professor Proton in order to help him with a promotional appearance at his home.
Newhart, who is now 83, has enjoyed numerous guest starring roles NCIS, Desperate House Wives and ER. Genre fans will likely remember him for his role of the mysterious Judson in the Librarian movies.
Of course, the actor and comedian is best known for ‘The Bob Newhart Show,’ which ran from 1972 until 1978 and a later series titled ‘Newhart,’ which ran from 82 until 1990.
The Big Bang Theory returns with a new episode on April 4 on American network CBS.
