Jim McGreevey, Clive Davis topline Bill Maher's 'Real Time' Friday night

McGreevey, who was married at the time, became the nation’s first openly gay governor. He announced his resignation at the same time, claiming he was being blackmailed by an Israeli named Golan Cipel who claimed McGreevey had sexually harassed him.

This Friday night, Bill Maher hosts Clive Davis, who recently came clean about his bisexual past in his new memoir that also caused an uproar with former "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson, who refuted the music mogul's claims vehemently.

HBO's whipsmart salon "Real Time with Bill Maher" continues its 11th season Friday, March 22 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), exclusively on HBO, with an instant replay at 11:00 p.m. following the live presentation. Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, the show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with in-studio and satellite guests.

Economist Austan Goolsbee is the top-of-show interview guest. Music-business executive Clive Davis is the mid-show interview guest. The roundtable guests are columnist John Feehery, voter registration advocate Maria Teresa Kumar and former NJ Gov. Jim McGreevey.

McGreevey was the 52nd governor of New Jersey. But on August 2004, he announced that he was gay and had been having an affair with a man whom he had appointed as the New Jersey homeland security adviser.

McGreevey, who was married at the time, became the nation’s first openly gay governor. He announced his resignation at the same time, claiming he was being blackmailed by an Israeli named Golan Cipel who claimed McGreevey had sexually harassed him.

How McGreevey, now happily in a relationship with a different man, is tackling the second act of his life is the basis of the new HBO documentary “Fall to Grace" which debuts March 28, 8 p.m.

The documentary is directed by Alexandra Pelosi, a veteran filmmaker who also did 2009’s “The Trials of Ted Haggard.”
