NBC’s upcoming drama Hannibal is the brainchild of creator Bryan Fuller. The series is getting a lot of attention currently at SXSW in Austin with some clever promotion.
This made for NBC story is based on Thomas Harris’ popular book series, broken into 13 episodes.
Acting heavyweight Laurence Fishburne stars as Jack Crawford, an FBI Behavioral Sciences Unit Leader. Hugh Dancy is cast as the lead actor, described as a criminal profiler who is trying to find a serial killer. He hires Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) to help profile the criminals. Of course, Dancy’s character has no idea that Lecter is a psycho serial killer. Caroline Dhavernas was also cast as Dr. Alana Bloom. Bloom is a psychology professor at the University of Chicago who moonlights as a consultant profiler for the FBI. Look for Aaron Abrams, cast as Brian Zeller, one of the three investigators at the FBI - the character being described as being on the geeky side.

Does the thought of NBC's upcoming new series Hannibal make you hungry? Look at those delicious tacos! NBC is having big fun with creative promotions at the Austin confab of TV, film and music at SXSW this weekend, with a Hannibal-themed food truck which features the image of series star Mads Mikkelsen dabbing his mouth after his own meal. I have the sads that I won't be there until this Thursday!

With Hannibal set to premiere in less than a month, NBC may be on to a tasty addition to their horror drama slate, with "Grimm" enjoying a solid fanbase on Friday night.
