FX's 'American Horror Story' nabs Kathy Bates for Season 3

Heading to AHS on FX: Kathy Bates EPA/ANDREW GOMBERT
Excellent news from "American Horror Story" producers, as the new lioness to go head to head with returning Jessica Lange is none other than Oscar winner (1990) Kathy Bates!
TVLine.com reports that Bates will play a soured friend of Lange's new character in the series, which reinvents itself season to season.
Last season the horror centered on Briarcliff, an insane asylum in Massachusetts set primarily in the 1960s. The year before AHS was set in modern day Los Angeles in a Victorian 'too good to be true' house that held the souls of those who died in it and harbored great evil to boot. Both seasons saw the excellent work of Jessica Lange, Dylan McDermott and Evan Peters.
Bates most recently starred in the David E. Kelley legal drama "Harry's Law" on NBC.
Confirmed to return to AHS season three includes Ms. Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe.
