ESPN sports trivia guru, Howie Schwab, will once again put his encyclopedic knowledge on display with a new game show segment every Wednesday on UNITE. Beginning February 20 “The Schwab” will challenge three college contestants a week, debuting with students from the Southeastern Conference.

Each week participants from a different NCAA conference will be tested by Schwab and UNITE host Reese Waters with questions from four categories – college sports, professional sports, pop-culture and social media. The winning player of each conference will advance through a UNITE tournament bracket of quarterfinals, semifinals and a final.

The debut segment will feature Evan Roberts (Auburn), Ryan Smith (Ole Miss) and Austin Vaughn (Georgia).  Next week’s show will include contestants from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Schwab previously starred in the network’s sports trivia show Stump the Schwab. His segment on UNITE, more simply called “The Schwab”, will challenge a new generation of sports fans to flex their stats muscle with ESPN’s first statistician. Schwab began working with ESPN in 1987 in research and is currently a coordinating producer in studio production.

UNITE debuted on ESPNU August 27, 2012 and is the network’s first late-night entertainment show. The show is a mix of sports, humor and social buzz hosted by college football analyst Danny Kanell, comedian Waters and social media host Marianela Pereyra. It airs five nights a week to the live soundtrack of DJ Rob Swift at midnight ET on ESPNU.
