New Yorkers come together in need, and TV stars from the area are banding  together to aid the struiggling budget of one popular NYC elementary school and make up the losses.

PS 11 in Chelsea will benefit from the talents of Artie Lange, Susie Essman, Dave Attell, W. Kamau Bell, Judy Gold and Gilbert Gottfried as they headline Gotham Comedy Club in Chelsea to combat the City School Budget this Tuesday, February 12 at 6:45pm

Background

PS 11 in Chelsea will present “Comedy For A Cause,” at Gotham Comedy Club to raise much-needed funds for the beloved neighborhood school facing deep budget cuts.  Featuring performances by Dave Attell (Insomniac, SNL, The Daily Show), Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Judy Gold (2x Daytime Emmy Award Winner), Gilbert Gottfried (PS11 Parent, Howard Stern Show, The Aristocrats, Problem Child, Aladdin) and Artie Lange (Howard Stern Show, #1 NY Times Bestseller, Nick & Artie Radio Show), W. Kamau Bell (Star of FX weekly series "Totally Biased," Executive Produced by Chris Rock) the comedy community has banded together to help provide local elementary school children with basic needs stemming from the loss of more than $300,000 in Department of Education funding.

State and City budgets are based on minimal standards.  All of the school’s important enrichment activities are paid for by the PTA funds.  These include Art, Music, Dance, Computers, Math & Literacy Development, Staff Development and many more invaluable programs.

Additionally, an online auction is simultaneously taking place  (www.charitybuzz.com/support/ps11) featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences including tickets to a private Josh Groban show, tickets to illusionist David Copperfield’s show in Las Vegas, a personal voicemail recorded by Gilbert Gottfried, a meet and greet with Penn & Teller in Las Vegas, tickets to Saturday Night Live dress rehearsal and a behind-the-scenes tour of NBC’s The TODAY Show.

Gotham Comedy Club 208 West 23rd Street, New York
