"Funny Girl" and all around vocal legend Barbra Streisand will perform at the 85th annual Academy Awards on Feb. 24, headlining a ceremony replete with many notable performances.
This is on the heels of Catherine Zeta-Jones being booked for an Oscars night tribute to movie musicals. Zeta-Jones, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2003 for her part in musical Chicago.
Streisand took the best actress Oscar for 1968's "Funny Girl" and has been nominated three other times in three different categories. This is her second performance after "A Star Is Born" was performed back in 1977. She won an original song Oscar (shared with Paul Williams) for the film's theme song "Evergreen" that night.
According to Variety, executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, "how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand? We are honored that she has agreed to do a very special performance."
Another singer set to perform is Adele; the new mother is set to sing the Oscar-nominated title song that she co-wrote with Paul Epworth from "Skyfall" at the Oscars, and Norah Jones will perform "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" co-written by Oscar host Seth MacFarlane with Walter Murphy from th film "Ted."
The 50th year of the James Bond franchise, which launched with "Dr. No" in 1962, is set for an honor as well.
