Alex Gibney. Eva Longoria topline 'Real Time with Bill Maher,' Feb. 1 on HBO

Bill Maher is back Friday night to discuss the week's hottest stories and dissect the headlines. His guests include Alex Gibney, Eva Longoria and Cory Booker.

Real Time with Bill Maher continues its 11th season FRIDAY, FEB. 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), exclusively on HBO, with an instant replay at 11:00 p.m. following the live presentation.

This fluid salon type format gives Maher a fresh delivery on his perspective of contemporary issues. The show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviewswith in-studio and satellite guests.

February 1 sees these guests: Documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney (HBO’s “Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God”) is the top-of-show interview guest. Author Sam Harris is the mid-show interview guest. The roundtable guests are Newark, NJ mayor Cory Booker, reporter Jackie Kucinich and actress Eva Longoria.

In 2008, Gibney won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for Taxi to the Dark Side, a film that exposed the torture practices of the United States in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay.

In addition, Gibney has taken on corporate greed in America (the Oscar-nominated Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room), corruption on Wall Street (Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer), and super-lobbying (Casino Jack and the United States of Money).

A no miss evnt coming to HBO, Gibney’s latest film Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God begins with examining Father Lawrence Murphy, who abused more than 200 Deaf children at a Catholic school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin decades ago. As adults, Arthur Budzinski, Terry Kohot, Pat Kuehn, and Gary Smith seek to right the wrongs done to them and countless others.

As the Deaf men and Gibney attempt to hold the Catholic Church accountable, they unwittingly peel back the door on a decades-long cover-up leading directly to the Pope himself.

Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God premieres Monday, February 4th on HBO. The film was shortlisted for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, and nominated for a Writers Guild Award for Best Documentary Screenplay.
