Showtime's 'The Vatican' features Ridley Scott as director, Paul Attanasio script

Great news for drama fans as Showtime brings "The Vatican" into production.

Lavish sets, big hats, robe-y robes and gilded chalices await as Ridley Scott is inked to direct his first pilot for TV from Paul Attanasio's script.

The network has ordered its first pilot for 2013, described as "a provocative contemporary genre thriller about spirituality, power and politics" – and a "modern-day political machinations within the Catholic church."
