‘Sons of Anarchy’ Chucky profile and Theo Rossi a local hero in NYC

Rossi reportedly had a chance to get out of Hurricane Sandy\'s way and leave, but the “Sons of Anarchy” star stayed at his Richmond Town, Staten Island home until after the storm.

One thing about the cast of FX's major hit series, "Sons of Anarchy," the cast actually gives a sh*t about our Veterans and the people suffering post Hurricane Sandy.

New Jersey native Kurt Sutter, the showrunner and actor (Otto) of the biker drama, has been Tweeting his good wishes, offering help and useful links for people to donate needed money and goods to his devastated Jersey Shore.

Now a cast member, Theo Rossi (Juice) of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ has gone home to Staten Island and is helping Richmond Town dig out after Hurricane Sandy.

NYDailynews.com reports that Theo Rossi and neighbors found widespread destruction on Staten Island after Sandy ripped through.

Rossi reportedly had a chance to get out of Hurricane Sandy's way and leave, but the “Sons of Anarchy” star stayed at his Richmond Town, Staten Island home until after the storm.

“Every year, after I wrap ‘Sons,’ I go to Staten Island for a week and spend time with my family,” the Staten Island native told the Daily News. “I choose that over vacation.”

He told the Daily News he was not going to miss Sunday dinner with his family.

“I was like, no, absolutely not,” says Rossi, 37. “I mainly come here for Sunday dinner. I’m not missing that.”

Rossi got word that a neighborhood restaurant that his uncle owned was destroyed, and his neighbors were suffering.

“It was just like this call to arms: Let’s go down to the beach, let’s see what’s going on,” Rossi explains. “To see all these places torn apart, literally houses moved and ripped apart, water everywhere, all these place that you hung out at — it was devastating. I had never seen anything like it. I was in shock.”

The Daily News reported that other TV stars, including “Real Housewives of New Jersey” cast members Jacqueline and Chris Laurita, and Albie and Chris Manzo showed up with a truck full of supplies to aid his efforts.

The actor flew home to L.A. on Monday, but plans to continue his efforts to help his hometown. “It was the most effective thing I’ve ever done in my life,” Rossi says.

Dayton Callie (Chief Unser), Kim Coates (Tig), Theo Rossi and many other cast members have traveled to the Persian Gulf to meet and greet the troops. They also hang for hours and hours at fan events to take pictures and sign autographs. The entire cast and crew also support The Boot Campaign, a grassroots initiative started by five women from Texas known as the Boot Girls. The campaign encourages everyone to “get their boots on” providing a way to show appreciation for troops, cultivate awareness of the challenges they face upon return and raise funds for military programs meeting the physical and emotional needs of our heroes.
