FX's "American Horror Story: Asylum" is so devilishly demonic, gripping and filled with great actors, it transcends what average TV offers and makes Wednesday night one of true terror and edge of the seat fun.
The latest, "Nor'Easter", directed by Michael Uppendahl, brings us bloody faced serial killers, space aliens and implanted chips that turn into space spiders, devils and demons, dead toothy things that are voracious eaters all wrapped up in a creepy mental institution decorated with pin heads, nymphomaniacs, sexually repressed Catholics and one evil misogynistic scientist/doctor.
Timing was perfect for “Nor’Easter,” as the Bloody Face serial murderer mystery deepens, and a delicious demonic possession subplot swirls around Sister Mary Eunice (Lily Rabe) who now is taunting evil and dangerous Dr. Arden (James Cromwell) and recovering drunkard Sister Jude (Jessica Lange).
Lana (Sarah Paulson), Kit (Evan Peters) and Grace (Lizzie Brocheré) all try to escape, and run into the things in the woods that need flesh.
Poor Shelley (Chloe Sevigny), who survives an attempted rape by Dr. Arden, only to wake up with surgically removed lower legs.
