Jeff Probst Goes Undercover as a Psychic (VIDEO)

In a special Halloween-themed episode on Wednesday, October 31, host Jeff Probst goes undercover posing as a psychic, after meeting Mark Edward, a former psychic who explains how most mediums can con people with even a limited amount of information easily attained on the internet. Plus, renowned hypnotist Tom Silver explains how hypnosis works and puts members of the audience under, with hilarious results.

Upon learning the tricks of the trade from Mark Edward, Jeff sets up shop in a Los Angeles home and performs psychic readings for unsuspecting strangers, with remarkable results. 

Later, the subjects agree to come on the show and talk about their experiences.  On the show, Edward tells Jeff why psychics can be so successful despite having so little information:

"People make connections because they're there, they made an appointment, they paid with their credit card, usually ahead of time," explains Edward, "so they want the psychic to be real, and they want to make a connection in their life, so you can throw out just about anything, silly things, and the person will think and say, 'oh, that makes sense, that's my next door neighbor's dog,' you know, it's just silly sometimes, but it's true."

Hosted by five-time Emmy winner Jeff Probst, his mission is to entertain and inspire viewers with stories about people living their lives to the fullest and saying "Yes" to life with every opportunity they get.
