IFC has announced ten new episodes of IFC’s hit series. Video Services Corp. (VSC) will release IFC’s hit original comedy series, Portlandia Season Two, on Blu-ray™ and DVD on September 25, 2012.
One of the most beautiful citiies in all the USA - Portland, Oregon - is home to two robust TV series, the comedy 'Portlandia' (IFC) and drama 'Grimm' (NBC).
Make sure you visit Mothers restaurant for a killer breakfast (and Voodoo Donuts for a decadent treat) if you are fortunate to see the quirky cool city on the winding Willamette river.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has honored IFC’s original comedy series Portlandia with two Emmy nominations.
Created and written by Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel, Portlandia welcomes viewers to the creators' romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR. Portlandia is on the ballot for the following categories: Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. The series previously won a 2011 Emmy award for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or Special and a 2011 Peabody Award.
“We are honored the show has been recognized with these Emmy nominations,” said co-creator, writer and director Jonathan Krisel. “It is a privilege to be part of the conversation. We’d also like to extend our thanks to the city of Portland, which has embraced and championed the show in a way that I think none of us could have imagined.”
Jennifer Caserta, President & General Manager of IFC, commented: “Portlandia has become a genre defining original series for IFC and our distinct brand of alternative comedy. Today’s honor is matched only by the tremendous support the show has received from fans and the press, and is a testament to the amazing efforts of the show’s entire creative team. We are grateful to them and to the Academy for these nominations.”

Season three of Portlandia returns to IFC in January 2013 and the one-hour summer event, Portlandia: The Brunch Special, premiered Friday, July 20 at 11pm.
The Peabody award-winning and critically acclaimed series that presents a romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, Oregon through the eyes of Fred and Carrie (Fred Armisen of Saturday Night Live and Carrie Brownstein from Wild Flag and Sleater-- Kinney) was saluted by M&C for its original and hilarious take on a city full of characters.
Season Two is packed with new characters and special guest stars and the release has loads of extras not seen anywhere else.
From IFC
Some of Portlandia’s most loved and notable characters from Season One return for Season Two including Portland’s trusty but sometimes misguided Reggae bass playing Mayor (Kyle MacLachlan), Peter and Nance, an overly eco-conscious couple caught up in the organic and local food movement; Bryce Shivers and Lisa Eversman, an arty, obsessive couple who find a new trend to explore; and Toni and Candice, the former activist shopkeepers of the feminist bookstore Women and Women First.
New residents have also moved in for Season Two including Doug and Claire, a couple whose lives spin out of control when they run out of new episodes of “Battlestar Galactica” and a struggling band who finds itself with an all too enthusiastic fan.
This season new guest stars include Jeff Goldblum, Sean Hayes, Penny Marshall, Jack McBrayer, Tim Robbins, Andy Samberg, Amber Tamblyn, and Kristen Wiig, as well as musicians Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Johnny Marr (The Smiths), Joanna Newsom, St. Vincent and Eddie Vedder.
Bonus features include behind-the-scenes Portlandia Live tour footage, creator commentaries, a bonus feminist bookstore scene, "Brunch Village: The Director's Cut," an excerpt from the new book Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors and the "Inside Portlandia" documentary special. A two-pack of Seasons One and Two is also available at an SRP of $29.95 through Video Services Corp.
Shot entirely on location in Portland, Oregon, the series is directed, co-created and co-written by Jonathan Krisel and executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video.
