The Hispanic network will feature an unprecedented amount of original and user generated online content through two sites fully dedicated to the Games: www.olimpiadastelemundo.com, with live-streaming, highlights, scores, news, analysis, athlete profiles, as well as original videos and interactive content and www.deportestelemundo.com, offering feature stories. Telemundo's digital platform is integrated through the site www.nbcolympics.com/telemundo, further extending access to Olympic content for the Hispanic audience. The network also announced an aggressive social media campaign via Facebook and Twitter, making London 2012 the first-ever “Social Olympics in Spanish in the U.S.” In addition, Telemundo launched a new mobile application that provides immediate access to Olympic content in Spanish, anywhere, anytime.

"Telemundo is redefining the Olympic experience in London 2012 with an unprecedented digital strategy leveraging Hispanic’s over-index use of digital media," said Peter Blacker, Executive Vice President of Digital Media and Emerging Businesses for Telemundo. "We are taking the excitement of the games beyond the screen through a fusion of digital platforms, including social, mobile and web, with the ultimate objective of empowering users to shape their own experience.”

Telemundo also will promote an ongoing discussion with Hispanic fans through an aggressive social media campaign via Facebook and Twitter positioning London 2012 as the first-ever “Social Olympics in Spanish” in the U.S. The network will promote the uploading of user-generated content and foster a dialogue among its commentators, experts and analysts, the Hispanic Olympic athletes and the audience through Facebook /olimpiadastelemundo, and Twitter, under the handle @olimpiadasTLMD and at twitter.com/olimpiadas.

In addition, the network will conduct a daily poll on Olympic themes through Facebook and will share its results throughout its programming from its daily morning show "Un Nuevo Día" (7:00 am ET/PT) to the daily London 2012 reviews at midnight.

The new Olympic mobile App will offer users free and immediate 24/7 access to London 2012 content in Spanish from any IOS or Android smartphone, including video on demand of events, highlights and interviews, putting users in total control of the Olympic experience. The App also allows users to follow their favorite athletes, teams and sports, and engage with other fans on various social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. The IOS version can be downloaded here and the Android version here.

Telemundo's coverage of London 2012 will be live from both London and the network’s studios, bringing the stories of Hispanics participating in the Olympics and the main events both on the field and around the Games to the homes of millions of U.S. Hispanic viewers.

The coverage will feature marquee disciplines such as boxing, swimming, basketball and soccer, which will be a major broadcast highlight. Deportes Telemundo’s Olympic team, headed by internationally acclaimed sportscaster Andrés Cantor, includes Jessi Losada, Mónica Noguera, Sammy Sadovnik, Edgar Lopez, René Giraldo, Karim Mendiburu, Kaziro Aoyama, Oscar Guzmán, Leti Coo and Verónica Contreras, as well as several former Olympic champions.
