Peter Alexander sits down with the five young men who may become America’s ‘First Sons.’ In their first joint television news interview of the 2012 campaign, Mitt Romney’s five sons talk about their family, their faith, and why some of them initially didn’t want their Dad to run for President this year.
Remember this name: Gabby Douglas. You’re likely going to hear a lot about her in the next few weeks. A bubbly 16-year old gymnast affectionately known as the “flying squirrel,” she is poised to take the Olympics by storm as she attempts become only the second African American woman to medal in the sport. But the journey that ends in London has been difficult. While her dad was serving in the army in Afghanistan, Gabby’s mom and sister made tremendous sacrifices to allow her to pursue what often seemed a very unlikely goal. Chris Jansing reports.
At $1 trillion dollars, student loan debt now exceeds credit card debt. It’s a problem so big its drawing scrutiny at colleges across the country, as well as in Washington D.C. Nowhere has the scrutiny been as intense as at for-profit colleges, which are responsible for an out-sized share of student debt. The industry says not having a degree costs students far more than any loan. Natalie Morales reports.
