Eastbound & Down, Newsroom and True Blood back on HBO next year

McBride\'s character Kenny Powers is a former Major League Baseball pitcher trying to capture glory days while living a somewhat normal life as a single dad in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
HBO brings 'Eastbound & Down' back for a fourth season on HBO. True Blood is back for a sixth season and Aaron Sorkin’s new drama The Newsroom has also been renewed for a second season only a week into its first year.
The last announcement was for the ribald Danny McBride comedy, with eight episodes planned.
McBride's character Kenny Powers is a former Major League Baseball pitcher trying to capture glory days while living a somewhat normal life as a single dad in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The series stars Steve Little, Elizabeth De Razzo and Katy Mixon. Matthew McConaughey and Will Ferrell are frequent guest stars.
HBO also reupped Lena Dunham's "Girls," and "Veep," starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
