Tune in alert for a new show premiering tonight that follows three men who are plucked from their mundane and monotonous lives, and dropped in Hawaii’s most beautiful and remote locations.
The idea here is to give these three men the opportunity to break free from the ordinary through an adrenaline-pumping series of challenges and adventures in the most exotic locales of Hawaii (diving with sharks, surfing perilous waves and jumping out of an airplane), and ultimately inspire the three to make a clean break (thus the title) from the ruts they were in upon returning home.
Clean Break, is a TV and web series (premiering tonight at 11/8P ET/PT on FUEL and Yahoo! respectively) following — Luke Rodgers (whose brother is the Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers), Steven Helmkamp (a pharmaceutical rep) and Chase Penny (a stay at home dad).
Cast:
Dave Kalama - pioneer of modern-day stand-up paddle surfing, featured in such iconic surf films as "Riding Giants" and "Step into Liquid."
Bear Woznick - legendary tandem surfer and author of "Deep in the Wave: A Surfing Guide to the Soul," to be released July 2012.
Kimi Werner - pioneer of sustainable spearfishing and winner of multiple spearfishing championships.
Buzzy Kerbox - co-pioneer of the famous tow-in approach to surfing with Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama and once ranked 10th in the world.
Archie Kalepa - renowned big-wave surfer, accomplished waterman and one of a handful of men able to successfully tow surf the enormous waves that break on Maui's North Shore every winter.
Bret Marumoto - world-famous surf board designer and shaper from the North Shore.
Tamayo Perry - considered one of the raw talents to emerge from the East side of Oahu, famous for competing in the Pipeline Masters for several years.
"When you look at all the watermen on 'Clean Break,' we each made a name for ourselves by living life our own way. You could say each of us made our own clean break at some point to get us where we are today," said Dave Kalama. "It's really cool to be able to share this lifestyle with three great guys like Luke, Steven and Chase, and really the millions of other guys who will tune in to the show. Hopefully we'll inspire more than a few of them to break free, and try something exhilarating and new."
