Pelosi: Payroll Tax Cut Deal Will 'Boost' Economy, PBS NEWSHOUR Thurs. (VIDEO)

House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi told NEWSHOUR Senior Correspondent Judy Woodruff in an interview Thursday that the deal forged on Capitol Hill to extend a payroll tax cut and continue unemployment insurance benefits will create jobs and help the economy. Woodruff’s interview with Pelosi took place Thursday afternoon, at the U.S. Capitol building.

Pelosi also told Woodruff that she isn't worried that the payroll tax cut deal is being paid for with money from the Social Security Trust Fund, but said that "this should be the last year for it." Pelosi added, "One or two years, the trust fund can handle that."
Along with the payroll tax cut, Nancy Pelosi talked with Woodruff about upcoming legislation in the House, campaign finance and the 2012 elections.
