Former 'Apprentice' winner Tim Campbell has been made an MBE.

The businessman won the first ever series of the BBC One show in 2005 and became Lord Alan Sugar's apprentice before leaving the company in 2008 to start up the Bright Ideas Trust, which offers funding and support for young people wishing to start their own company.

Tim has now been recognised for his services to enterprise culture and has received his MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

Meanwhile, his former boss Lord Sugar said he couldn't have been happier for him.

He tweeted: 'Tim Campbell my first Apprentice winner is receiving his MBE at Buckingham Palace this morning. We are all very proud of you. Well done! (sic)'

Elsewhere, Lord Sugar is looking for new contestants for his 'Young Apprentice' series and has tweeted encouraging people to apply.

He wrote: 'I am looking for 16-17 year old budding entrepreneurs, all welcome BOFFS and STREET WISE apply for Young Apprentice bbc.in/q8T7UM (sic)'

He then said: 'Frequently asked question' : (A) No you don't have to have a business already to apply for the apprentice young or regular series. (sic)'
