Heidi Range admits 'Dancing On Ice' is a 'great distraction' from her relationship woes.

The Sugababes singer - who announced her split from fiance Dave Berry in December after eight years together - explained she is pleased to have had something to throw herself into in the wake of the break-up and she will be 'lost' when her stint on the ITV1 celebrity skating show is over.

She said: ''Dancing On Ice' was a great distraction from the break-up. It's been good fun and different to throw myself into rather than sitting at home thinking about it.

'I'll be lost when it finishes because it really does take over your whole life, and I have gone from a really difficult phase to throwing myself into this and absolutely loving it. I really don't know what I'll do with myself when it's over.'

The 28-year-old beauty - who is partnered alongside professional skater Andrei Lipanov on the show - admitted despite loving her time on the series, she is a 'scaredy cat by nature', and 'terrified' of the daredevil stunts she has to perform on the ice.

Heidi added in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'I never thought for a second I'd do it. I'd never have considered it because I really am a scaredy cat by nature - I'm terrified of almost everything.

'I'm scared of walking in the dark, sleeping on my own, driving on motorways, heights - I'm a genuinely safety conscious person.

'I've even got myself a helmet for practising, even though Andrei insists I don't need one.'
