If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

From BBQ to molecular gastronomy, if you’re not on the top of your game, you’re not going to last too long on Bravo’s Top Chef Texas!

This week your favorite chef’testants keep it, relatively, simple and get their grill on, but when the Texan temperatures are thermometer-breaking, and the smoke becomes too much to handle, the task takes a turn for the worse - Sarah ends up going to the hospital! But that’s part of the game, right?!

Speaking of heat, this week’s quickfire challenge is pretty advanced – just a smidge away from rocket science – it sounds more like chemistry more than cooking – and some of the concoctions they come up are really out of this world.  You’ll have to watch to find out what they come up with!

Top Chef: Texas Supersized Wednesday 1/4 @ 10/9c – It is not unusual for the judges to ask the chef’testants to go back to the basics, but this week, they are asking for quite the opposite! In this quickfire challenge the chefs must channel their inner magician to whip up a dish using modernist cooking techniques. Some chefs have experience with such techniques, while others struggle to make their dish pop (literally). Later, the chef’testants get to do some old-fashioned grilling, but when the fire pit gets a too hot, the medics must be called for Sarah. Will she make it back in time to compete, or will she be sent packing?
