A wonderful American novel is being cast for TV by HBO: The adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's The Corrections.
HBO recently cast Dianne Wiest and Chris Cooper to play Enid and Alfred, the parents in this novel of family relationships for the pilot of hopefully what will become HBO's blockbuster series.
Franzen's prose is endearing, funny and centers on forgiveness and reconciliation. The Lamberts are the center of his tale, and the children of Alfred and Enid, Gary, Chip and Denise are brought home for a family Christmas before dad Alfred's physical decline becomes irrevocable.
deadline.com reports exclusively that Scottish heartthrob Ewan McGregor has signed on to the Noah Baumbach–directed project, cast as the middle sibling Chip, with an additional brother and sister yet to be cast.
