It all happened last week when I was away - Frankie Cocozza being thrown off the show for being a naughty boy and the reintroduction of Amelia Lilly, who seemingly won the viewers' poll to come back an hour before it was even announced on the show - which had everyone screaming 'fix!'

I’ll pick up from where I left off:

This week was 'movie week.' The week where the contestants have to sing classic movie anthems, and given that there are only six acts remaining, I’ll just take you through what I felt were the best acts last night. So here goes.

The Boys: Best Out of the two remaining Boys and on song choice I preferred Craig Colton’s performance last night over what Marcus did. Which isn’t to say that what Marcus did was bad. It just wasn’t my bag.

The Girls: Best out of the girls for me last night was Amelia Lilly, who was voted back in last week, but in reality should never have been let go in the first place. She sang the Aretha Franklin song from Blues Brothers, which was also used in the first Bridget Jones movie.

Gary Barlow was a little critical of the song perhaps being a tad too high for Amelia’s vocals, but that said I think she coped with it really well.

As for the remaining two girls. Janet Devlin put in a really nice performance and Misha B did her usual thing, which again isn’t really my bag.

Groups: Given that there is only one group left. Little Mix were the best and its only right that they are still in the competition.  As always they sang fantastically and work really well together as a band and I can see them being in the finale quite easily.

Overall Best: For me the overall best last night was Amelia Lilly, who completely justified her being back in the competition.

Overall Worst: Nothing to do with her singing of vocal, which is always strong, but Misha B’s song choice really let her down last night because it was predictable and obviously pandering for votes.

The Result: When it came to the final show down. It was Amelia Lilly and Craig Colton, who received the least votes.

I have to say that I wasn’t at all shocked that Amelia Lilly would have her head on the chopping block so early, given that she was voted onto the show in what many viewers to be suspicious circumstances. But Craig Colton over Misha B, who I felt was by far the worst act last week. Hmmm.

Either way when it came to the sing off it was decided to take it the the public vote because the judges failed to reach a decision and when the votes were counted it was Craig that was sent home.

To be honest, I think Amelia deserved to stay and the audience was right on this one, but dead wrong when it came to keeping Misha B in who has had a few really bad weeks.

Anyway, that’s it for now. Until next week when the remaining five acts will be singing two songs as apposed to the usual one.
