The diminutive sotted Jersey girl, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, has managed to parlay her reality TV fame into serious business.
Go figure! In addition to her upcoming spin-off with Jersey Shore co-star Jenny "J-Woww" Farley, the 23-year-old is launching a clothing line and even a fragrance dubbed "Snooki by Nicole Polizzi."
Snooki recently talked to Parade.com about the price of fame and why audiences shouldn't judge her by her reality TV persona. Here are some highlights:
On the biggest misconception about her...
“Probably that I’m an alcoholic and I drink and all I want to do is hook up. That’s totally not the case. You have to remember that reality shows capture your worst moments.”
How she handles the negative side of fame...
“I got bullied in high school. A lot of girls were so mean to me because their boyfriends wanted to hang out with me and my girls, so they pretty much bullied me to the point where I was crying at night. Now, if somebody says something negative to me, I’m just like, ‘Whatever.’ I laugh it off. Nobody can get to me at this point.”
On making her relationship with boyfriend Jionni work...
“He doesn’t like to watch the episodes. He just doesn’t like anything a part of my life, so we’re just trying to keep our relationship as normal as possible. We try not to let anybody get to us.”
On her future...
“Ten years from now, I would like to see myself successful as a brand, like Jessica Simpson, with babies running around and a beautiful husband and my own reality show.”
