Tune in alert for tonight's new news series with NBC news anchor Brian Williams.
The number-one anchor, Williams stars in NBC's ive newsmagazine "Rock Center With Brian Williams," airing from Studio 3B in the network's Rockefeller Center headquarters in New York.
Williams is a beloved, hip newsman who represents the calmer news environment of network television versus the boisterous shout fests of cable news.
The premiere episode includes taped pieces on the resistance movement in Syria and on Chinese women who pay to come to the U.S. to have children and then return with American citizenship.
Unlike NBC's "Dateline" and CBS' "48 Hours" which are 'whodunit' crime solvers, Williams will take his series in a different direction.
Williams' cache is his humor and competency in the news arena, and he appeals to the 'Daily Show' crowd and their parents.
"Rock Center" also features NBC foreign correspondent Richard Engel, former "Today" show cohost Meredith Vieira and Harry Smith, late of CBS' "The Early Show."
