Zach Galifianakis\'s Ray is a beautifully rendered comic character, so earnest in his desire to be the best father to his baby, his son conceived using his donated sperm to a divorced lesbian couple.
HBO's "Bored to Death" is currently my favorite comedy on TV.
The ensemble cast brings brilliant physical comedic actor John Hodgman cast as Jonathan Ames' nemesis, a man who has devoted his life to studying and eventually going tete a tete with the great American Mid-Western intellectual, Dick Cavett.
Hodgman's character Louis Green is so insanely focused on getting his book promoted on Cavett's new show, he tries to poison Ames' chances by running him down and insulting him in the green room, to no avail.

Last episode's scene where George (Ted Danson) give Ames (Jason Schwartzman) a lesson in Cavett-wrangling by showing him a classic clip how iconic actor Robert Mitchum deflects Cavett's questions of his virile poon-hound ways was priceless.
Zach Galifianakis's Ray is a beautifully rendered comic character, so earnest in his desire to be the best father to his baby, his son conceived using his donated sperm to a divorced lesbian couple.
Ray's awkward La Leche league park blundering leads to an accidental baby switch, with the group of women in the park Googling him, finding his giant penis pictures online, fearing the worst. Ray rolls the wrong baby back to his home as the child slumbers undisturbed, sleeping in the stroller, while he gets completely baked on marijuana and finger paints, all while NYC mounts a media crazed baby snatching alert and police APB.
Meanwhile, Cavett takes a liking to Jonathan, whose tales of woe revolving around his real father's ID - a donor to the sperm bank in Fair Lawn that burned down many years ago, leaving Jonathan once again without a trail to follow.
The trifecta male lead is Danson as George, whose reluctant acceptance of his peer Bernard is finally reached so his daughter will marry.
Jonathan's hit it off so well with Cavett that the booker is ordered to tell Louis he is bumped to keep Jonathan on for an additional segment.
What happens is a perfectly orchestrated display of Hodgman’s comedic talents as his character Louis Green unravels in full force, making this series one of the best on television - never to miss.
Even is you are new to the series, watch on HBO GO to catch up. Worth your precious time.
